Max Turner, my dad, passed away quietly on Friday 15 April 2016. He was aged 92 and lived a very fulfilling life. He was healthy right up to the end and passed very quickly. As dad was the youngest and last to pass of Henry and Rosina's children, it is the end of an era.
Sad news this week at the passing of Audrey, HR Turners second youngest child, and granddaughter to
C J Turner. Audrey passed away quietly aged a very impressive 94 years young!
Just added some photo's of Charles Harold Turner to CJ's History page. It includes a group shot of Charles with Alma Metcalfe, and Chas Woof with Violet Somers Turner (with Violet keeping a respectable distance from Chas!).
I had a request from a film company that is producing an Australian film in 2013/14 asking if they could use a flyer that CJ had produced promoting Berowra. I had not seen this flyer before, and they kindly forwarded a copy to me, which I have now included under CJ at Berowra.
The note I received from the film company is as follows: "I am writing to you from the production offices of an Australian Feature Film in Sydney entitled Backtrack. Backtrack is a spine-chilling supernatural thriller from writer/director Michael Petroni and producers Jamie Hilton (The Waiting City) and Antonia Barnard (Last Ride). The film follows a psychologist whose life is thrown into turmoil when he discovers his patients are all ghosts of people who died in an accident 20 years prior. Our hero returns to his home town in country Victoria to investigate the secrets his family hides. He makes contact with the local Police Station and it is in this set that we would like to dress your great grandfather's advertisement." Found some photos of both Henry and Philadelphia, including a very early photo of Philadelphia.
With thanks to John Chappell (keep it coming John!), have included new page about CJ's siblings: Albert, Ella and Daisy. Click here to view.
Plus recent photo of CJ's Albion, still getting out and about 104 years later! Thought this might be a good way to keep everyone up to date with any new content that gets published on the site. John (Chappell) is always coming up with wonderful images and information of our extended family. So this might be a great place to visit first.
Please feel free to add your own comments etc. It might be a great way expand the site and make contact with family members from far and wide. Click on Comments (below) to view all entries. Cheers - John Turner |
